North Bay Travel Guide
Welcome to North Bay!
The City of North Bay enjoys a prime position along the shore of Lake Nipissing, home to some of the best fishing in North America, along with the French River, Trout Lake and the Mattawa River, all within close proximity. The picturesque North Bay Waterfront is used by many recreationalists, who come for the swimming and boating opportunities. Sudbury is located only 130 km (81 mi) northwest of North Bay, while Toronto is approximately 345 km (214 mi) directly south of the city. The city also has numerous inner-city attractions including the Heritage Railway Company's Miniature Railway and one of the largest War Memorials in Canada—Memorial Park's War Memorial and Wall of Honour. In early June, enjoy the lively festivities at Northern Ontario's only Scottish festival, Celtfest. From canoeing and hiking to dog sledding and snowmobiling, many tour companies use North Bay and area as a departure point for adventures in the surrounding wilds.
